I have tried for years to make perfect bisuits. I never seemed to succeed until I found this recipe!! Let me know what you think.
Homemade Biscuits
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup(s) unsalted butter
2 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon(s) baking powder
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) cold buttermilk
2 tablespoon(s) cold buttermilk
1 tablespoon(s) melted butter
DIRECTIONS Heat oven to 475 degrees F. Cut butter into small cubes and freeze 15 minutes. Stir dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
Cut in butter using either a pastry blender, two knives, or your fingers until mixture resembles a coarse meal.
Stir in buttermilk using a fork just until dough forms. Knead 3 to 4 turns on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7- by 10-inch rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a 3-inch cutter (gathering scraps until all dough is used).
Place 2 inches apart on a baking pan. Brush tops with melted butter.
Bake on top shelf of oven 16 to 18 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
TIPS & TECHNIQUESOut of buttermilk? Use "soured" milk instead. For this recipe, combine 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar with 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes, or until it begins to thicken.

Yummy Chicken recipe
Amish Style Oven Fried Chicken
serves 4-5
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup (2/3 stick) butter
1 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon dried marjoram (optional)
8-9 chicken pieces - legs, thighs, breasts
Place the oil and butter in a shallow cooking pan and put in a preheated 375 oven to melt. Set aside.
In a paper sack, combine the flour and seasonings. Roll the chicken pieces, 3 at a time, in the melted oil-butter mixture, then drop them in the sack and shake to cover.
Place on a dish or wax paper until you have them all done.
Place the chicken in the pan, skin side down. Bake for 45 minutes.
With a spatula, turn over and bake 5-10 minutes longer, or until the top crust begins to bubble.
