Roses and Honeysuckle

I just love the smell of honeysuckle and roses! The scent of fresh honeysuckle takes me back in time to a country road that I used to travel as a girl in the springtime. Even now when I travel that road I can almost smell that honeysuckle just as sweet as can be. Isn't it funny how a scent or perhaps a song can take you back in time to a pleasant memory?

Lovely Summer Roses

I've working outside to get some flower beds looking pretty! I don't have the knack like some people do to make lovely flourishing flower gardens. I have to keep pretty simple. I do have just a couple roses and they are in bloom.

Yummy breadsticks recipe

These are the best and easiest breadsticks I have ever eaten!! Let me know how you liked them if you try the recipe!

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

1 cup warm water

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 1/2 cups flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix. Dump onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes (your dough should be smooth). Seperate the dough into 8 pieces and roll out into long strips the size of a restaurant breadstick. Place on baking sheet and brush with melted butter. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. Take out of oven, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle lightly with garlic salt.

Hint: I rolled my dough into a rectangle so that the dough was about half an inch thick. I then cut my eight strips with a pizza cutter!! It was super simple and easy.
